My early background as a performer has groomed me to be a natural, effective and experienced public speaker and trainer. As a former PR and marketing executive in high-end publishing, and, in more recent years, an extensively published journalist who has written for The Globe and Mail, The National Post, Vancouver Magazine, The Georgia Straight, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and other leading media here in Canada and in the United States, I am fluent in the nuances of conversational and written English, from casual to corporate to regional colloquialisms (and spelling!). Having been both a corporate copywriter and Web writer for a variety of Canadian and International companies and organizations, I am able to help professionals speak English that is specific to their various audiences. At the same time, I can provide a comprehensive range of English writing services, including consultation. (I have written everything from a science CD ROM used in classrooms, to a well-reviewed book of fiction.) I believe that the biggest benefit I can offer students of English at all levels is to help them speak more effectively, and naturally, rather than sounding as though they've learned everything from a textbook or a grammar lesson.
